Illegal gardening

An ordinance in the Florida city of Miami Shores prohibits the growing of vegetables (cabbage, lettuce, etc.) in homeowners' front gardens. Hermine Ricketts' back yard was too shady, so she planted vegetables in her front yard. After 17 years, she received the visit of a zoning inspector who made her remove the offending plants.
