Scotland and the United Kingdom

Recently the UK Supreme Court decided the question of whether Scotland could hold a referendum concerning Scottish independence from the United Kingdom without the approval of the UK parliament. Their answer was no. The video of the judgment summary in that case can be found here. 13 min., more or less correct subtitles available. It is read by Lord Reed, current president of the Supreme Court who is from Scotland.

In 2019, as part of a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Supreme Court, Lord Reed gave a lecture about the Supreme Court and Scotland which can be found here.  50 min., full transcript available.

Videos of the two days of hearings on the case can be found here. The introduction on the first morning by Lord Reed is particularly helpful.
