Brown v. Board of Education, 65 Years Ago

NPR’s Morning Edition has a story here about the famous civil rights case, Brown v. Board of Education, decided 65 years ago. John A. Stokes, now 87, one of the student plaintiffs in the Virginia case concerning segregated schools, is interviewed. In Brown, the Supreme Court overturned the 1896 precedent, Plessy v. Ferguson, which had held that separate but equal segregated facilities were constitutional. 3 min 45 sec, transcript available.
