Lady Hale on the European Convention of Human Rights

Lady Brenda Hale, a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, gave a lecture on 16 June 2011 entitled "Beanstalk or living instrument? How tall can the European Convention on Human Rights grow?" This Gresham College page includes video and audio versions of the lecture as well as a transcript. The video has also been posted on YouTube.
Lady Hale begins by presenting the evolutive approach of the Common Law and goes on examine to how "Strasbourg" (The European Court of Human Rights) does this with the Convention.
Lady Hale's lecture is about 45 min. long, and is followed by questions from the audience.
Highly recommended.
